After waiting all day for Lincoln to show us that mystery vehicle they teased us with yesterday, the 2019 Nautilus SUV has just surfaced on YouTube ahead of schedule.
All we knew until today was that this new model was meant to "make a lasting impression", and that it was going to be on display in LA next to the 2019 MKC. What we're finding out though is that the Nautilus isn't exactly all-new, but rather an update for the MKX.
The new name also brings with it a new design, where the front end resembles a Continental's, which does help make the SUV look a little more elegant. The rear end however hasn't been changed significantly.
In similar fashion to the 2019 MKC, the Nautilus also features a more traditional grille rather than that winged designed you saw on the 2018 MKX. Meanwhile, its headlights are smaller and no longer make contact with the grille, as they did before the facelift.
Inside, the changes are subtle, yet they're there if you look close enough. For starters, there's a new steering wheel, noticeably different than the one found on the 2018 MKX or even the new 2019 MKC. It features a clearer three-spoke design, and a new layout for the multifunction buttons. New trims, materials and colors are also to be expected, and the digital gauge cluster is a strong 2018-worthy addition.
As for the engine range and full list of features, we should know more about the Nautilus once Lincoln sends out the press release. Keep in mind that the MKX currently makes use of a 3.7-liter Ti-VCT V6 engine, and a 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged V6.
