Now you can have it both ways, as the Swedish automaker's performance division has announced a range of enhancements for the flagship soft-road wagon.
Before you get too excited, we should point out that this is not a full-on Polestar performance model, but rather a Polestar Performance Optimisation package similar to those already introduced for the S90, V90 and XC90.
The upgrades are now available to the V90 Cross Country in T6, D5, and D4 versions. Rather than try to produce substantial gains in straight-line performance, Polestar focused on enhancing the vehicle's response. So the engine is recalibrated for more mid-range punch, the gearbox shifts faster and throttle response is crisper, all of which are meant to encourage more spirited driving.
Now if only Volvo would give us a full-on Polestar Cross Country like the road-focused S60 and V60, we would have a real snow-pounding, gravel-spraying all-terrain machine on our hands.
