The changes include an improved interior with a new center console, front footwell lamps, console box illumination, a 12V socket in the boot and rain and dusk sensors. Mitsubishi has also updated the rear shock absorbers with a new valve for better stability and ride comfort while higher trim levels get additional safety features like blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert and a 360 degree camera.
Under the bonnet there's a 2.2-litre diesel with 147hp and 280lb-ft (380Nm) of peak torque. A manual six-speed gearbox is standard, with a six-speed automatic as an option. Fuel economy is a combined 53.3mpg UK and CO2 emissions rated at 139g/k for manual models, with the automatic ones offering 48.7mpg UK and 154g/km respectively.
Mitsubishi offers a five-year, 62,500-mile warranty with every new Outlander Diesel, with customers also able to choose a service cover for the first three years for the price of £700. Prices for the 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Diesel kick off from £24,999.
