Musk announced the news on his Twitter account saying “there will be a P100D Ludicrous Easter egg soon that uncorks the full performance”.
The ambitious executive may not have revealed just what that easter egg will comprise, it could be unlocked through an over-the-air update, instantly giving existing P100D owners the pleasure and excitement of even more speed.
As it stands, the Model S P100D is claimed to be the fastest accelerating production car currently on sale, capable of firing from a standstill to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 2.5 seconds.
“The fastest car in the world that you can buy new is electric. In the future people will look at gasoline cars as quaint - not how you get around,” Musk said in a recent conference call.
