The electric automaker confirmed the news in an email regarding the firm's changes to its Supercharging Network, reports Inside Evs, meaning the Model S 60 will soon cost $68,000 rather than $66,000.
No explanation has been given for the price hike or whether other Model S variants will soon become more expensive.
Buyers of the Model S 60 enjoy a range of 218 miles (350 km) and a potent sedan that can accelerate to 60 mph (96 km/h) in a respectable 5.5 seconds.
Beyond the entry-level version, the Model S is available in 60D guise with two electric motors, the 75 and 75D, 90D and range-topping P100D, capable of accelerating the sedan to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds.
