Available in Europe, there are four different color schemes available for the Custom Color Edition, each designed to give the Ford Transit a special look and consisting of Race Red, Deep Impact Blue, Frozen White with Jet Black contrasts and Shadow Black with Race Red contrasts. Underpinning all is the short-wheelbase, 290 Trend series Transit powered by Ford’s 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel engine with 170 PS (167 hp).
Alongside the Transits with special paint schemes, Ford has extended the Custom Sport series to now offer six variants.
The range-topping model is fitted with a bold body kit complete with a color-coded exterior that includes body-color bumpers, door handles and wing mirrors. Additionally, 17-inch wheels with a silver and black design come standard but 18-inch alloys are also available as are contrasting hood stripes.
Inside, the Transit Custom Sport series benefits from leather seat bolsters and the Ford SYNC connectivity package. Other modifications include a rear anti-roll bar, a thicker front anti-roll bar and firmer settings on the rear dampers for the standard van model. Double-cab-in-van models make use of different spring and damper settings.
As with the Custom Color Edition, the Custom Sport series includes the same 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel mated as standard to a 6-speed manual but also available with a 6-speed automatic.
