Fiat Planning Big Discounts On Its US Lineup Next Year

#Fiat is set to slash the prices of its 2017 models in the United States as part of a new pricing structure aimed at saving the marque’s dwindling local sales.

In documents obtained by Automotive News, it has been revealed that prices for the regular Fiat 500 and 500 Convertible have fallen across all trim levels while prices for the larger 500L and 500X models will remain largely stable for 2017.

The entry-level 500 Pop trim starts at $14,995, down by $2,000 over the 2016 model. The 500 Lounge costs $18,395 rather than $20,395 and the 500 Abarth is just $19,995 rather than $22,575. Fiat has also ditched the Easy, Sport and Turbo trim levels for next year.

As for the 500 Convertible, its price cuts are even more significant. No longer will the base 500 Convertible Pop cost $20,395 with it now starting at $16,490. The Lounge variant is now $19,890 not $24,495 and the Abarth convertible starts at $21,490, a huge drop from the $26,695 asking price of 2016.

The larger 500L will be available in two fewer trim levels than 2016 with the base model priced from $20,995, slightly up on the $20,845 of the 2016 model. However, a $235 saving can be made on the 500L Trekking, now $22,995 while the 500L Lounge is now $23,695 rather than $26,145.

Last, but not least, is the 500X where the Lounge and Trekking trim remain unchanged in price while the 500X Pop is now $5 cheaper.
