The announcement was made by the North American-based automotive giant, stating that the two vehicles will be exported in parallel to their new market starting from next year.
Initially launched back in 1987, the Chevrolet Silverado is the brand's best-selling truck globally, with more than 17 million units delivered. Equipped with an assortment of smart technologies, such as Active Noise Cancellation, Hill Start Assist, and Hill Descent Control, the third generation model will go on sale in China with the 6.2-liter V8 engine, producing 420 HP and 460 lb-ft (624 Nm) of torque.
Chevy's mid-size pickup truck, the Colorado, is in its second generation since 2012, and it will be offered with a 3.6-liter V6 engine, but unlike its north American counterpart, with its 308 HP and 275 lb-ft (373 Nm) of torque, the version aimed at the People's Republic will have to do with 305 HP and 269 lb-ft (365 Nm) of torque.
Full details on the two pickup trucks, as well as their price list, should be released closer to their launch date.
