Things were recently looking well for Roland Gumpert (founder of Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur), especially after his company was brought back to life by Hong Kong consortium Ideal Team Venture, after applying for bankruptcy in 2013.
Now, though, Apollo announced that Roland Gumpert was official decommissioned from the company as of June 2016. Moreover, he is no longer associated in any way with Apollo’s current or future projects.
That means the newly announced collaboration between Apollo Automobili, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) and Manifattura Automobili Torino – the Italian manufacturing house that builds the SCG supercars and race cars – was done without the involvement of Mr. Gumpert.
What determined these structural changes remains unclear, as well as whether or not Roland Gumpert had a saying during the Arrow's development.
Apollo Automobil will continue the plan set in motion, together with the aforementioned companies, with plans of debuting a naturally aspirated V12 track version of the Arrow – dubbed the Titan – at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed, as well as an Arrow S road going version, powered by a twin-turbo V8.
