This means that 7.1 percent more customers have went for one of the cars made under the Volkswagen umbrella compared to the ninth month of last year, while from January to September, the Group's sales rose by 2.4 percent, which piled up to 7.6 million vehicles.
"All passenger car brands recorded a positive delivery performance for the period to September. While the situation in Brazil in particular remained tense, there was significant growth on the Chinese market. There was also positive development in demand from customers in Europe. The increased deliveries make us optimistic we will be able to master the upcoming challenges. Reinforcing our customers' trust in our products remains our top priority", said head of the VW Group Sales, Fred Kappler.
The Asia-Pacific market accounted for 411,700 sales last month, where China is obviously a major player with 382,300, while across the European continent, the Germans delivered 398,700. In North America, 75,700 customers went for one of the cars made by the VW Group, out of which 46,600 were in the USA, and in South America, 28,400 vehicles found new homes.
Taken individually, Volkswagen Passenger Cars were the most popular with 547,700 sales in September, followed by Audi and Skoda, in this order, with 173,900 and 107,100. Seat managed to move 35,800 vehicles, while Porsche departed with 22,000 cars. VW Commercial Vehicles sold 43,200 units, while MAN and Scania truck divisions accounted for 9,200 and 7,200, respectively.
