Similar to the Alltrack, Allroad, or Scout treatments applied by its sister brands Volkswagen, Audi, and Skoda, the X-Perience trim takes roadgoing vehicles and beefs them up for treading (lightly) off the beaten path. Seat first applied the approach to the Leon ST, which still remains the only model available commercially in that trim.
The Ateca X-Perience shown in Paris is ostensibly close to being ready for production, if Seat deems public reception positive enough to bring it to market. But that's won't be the end of it.
Seat design boss Alejandro Mesonero told Auto Express that several more X-Perience models could follow, including the Mii city car, Ibiza hatchback, and the forthcoming Ibiza-based crossover (slated to wear the name Arona).
The automaker reportedly showed a ruggedized Mii X-Perience at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year, taking a similar approach to the Volkswagen Cross Up! (pictured below in red) with which the Mii (and Skoda Citigo) shares its basis.
