Automotive News China says that Renault will conduct tests on a 2 km long stretch of lakeside road in the Caidian district in the city of Wuhan. The tests are expected to be led by the company's local joint venture, Dongfend Renault Automobile Co.
While further details about the project haven't been revealed, the new self-driving Zoe will arrive almost three years after Renault first revealed the self-driving Zoe-based Next Two prototype.
Renault isn't the only company planning to test autonomous vehicles on the streets of China. Earlier in the year, Volvo announced that it will deploy up to 100 self-driving vehicles onto the streets of various Chinese cities.
