One Of Just 11 Porsche 993 GT2 Evos Turns Up For Auction In Dallas

This is a really rare opportunity for someone with deep pockets to acquire what’s been called the ultimate version of an air-cooled factory Porsche.

The car in question is a 1996 911 GT2 Evo, of which only 11 were ever produced. Built on the same principles that stood for the 993 RS, the 911 GT2 Evo used a tuned version of the Turbo’s twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre flat-six engine which in this case makes a whopping 600hp and 490lb-ft of torque.

Porsche dared remove the AWD system of the normal Turbo as well, shaving even more weight off the car and resulting in what is described as a breath-taking driving experience.

This one-owner, road-legal race car was built for homologation purposes in the FIA GT1 racing series. The body features a unique front splitter and these really wide bolt-on fenders everyone loves. Add to that the huge rear wing and by now, you probably curse yourself and your family for being that poor.

The car has covered 7,000km (4,350 miles) since new and will be offered at the Mecum Dallas 2016 auction on November 2. As for the estimate, this is set between $1,25 to $1,75 million so you better have that wallet ready if you’re planning to attend.
