Unveiled last year just in time for the Tokyo Motor Show, the study has remained unchanged and carries the same futuristic design, highlighted by the Dynamic Shield front end, slimmer headlamps and taillights, floating roof, a clean look for the doors and large wheels.
Under the skin there's an electric powertrain, a new battery pack that allows for a range of up to 248 miles (400 km) on a single charge, and an all-wheel drive system that should allow it to tackle some challenging terrains with ease, along with an array of active systems that assist the driver.
Mitsubishi doesn’t plan on keeping the eX a study for long, as previous info indicates the crossover will morph into an electric rival for the Nissan Juke, Renault Captur, Peugeot 2008, Opel/Vauxhall Mokka and others in the segment. The announcement was made earlier this year by one of the car company's execs, who said that the first examples are expected to arrive in showrooms by the end of the decade.
