The Bolt is seen as a pivotal point in the General’s electrification program. On paper, at least, it has what it takes, what with 200 HP, a 0-60 mph (0-95 km/h) sprint time of less than 7 seconds and a Tesla Model 3-beating 238-mile range on a single charge.
LG Chem’s battery pack consists of 288 lithium-ion cells, weighs 435 kg (960 pounds) and uses an active thermal conditioning system similar to that of the Volt in order to operate at the optimal temperature. It also comes with an 8-year/100,000 mile warranty and, with the (optional) fast charger, can get charged for a 90-mile range in 30 minutes.
