Vehicle Overview
While other markets received this model as early as 2009, the Philippine market got this in April 2012 through the facelift model. This generation shifted assembly location as this is imported from Japan rather than the predecessor's local production.
Just like the model it replaced, hatchback models are only sold in one engine: a 1.6 that is lively when driven above 2,000rpm. It does not deviate from its driver eccentric personality, which the previous model was known for.
A reworked interior greets the occupants as no traces of the old model can be seen here and a good thing here is a premium-like interior comes standard. The cramped back seat of old still retains, though.
What Should I Get
Unlike the sedan, this body configuration is available in one variant which carries the following items: a 103hp 1.6 engine paired to a 4-speed automatic, all power amenities, dual front airbags, ABS brakes, CD changer system, alarm, keyless entry, fog lamps, 60/40 fold rear seat, audio steering wheel controls, and sun roof.
How Much Would It Cost Me
Unlike the previous model, this one didn't sell well which meant not much owners reported problems although some mechanical components are similar with the older model. Units sold from January 2013 onward benefit from Mazda's Youjin 3 which promises free maintenance check-ups for the first three years, so hunting for the last examples of this vehicle is a prudent option.
