2017 Honda CBR250RR first view

Following the Light Weight Super Sports Concept's debut at last year's Tokyo Motor Show, Honda has unveiled the production CBR250RR.

This new motorcycle – which will be manufactured in Indonesia – is built around a steel truss frame with an upside-down front fork and an aluminium rear swing-arm.

Power is provided by a four-stroke, parallel-twin 250 cc engine. Featuring throttle-by-wire and three riding modes, Honda says it “aims for class-leading output performance”. However, technical data hasn't been released, so judging whether or not that target has been achieved isn't currently possible.

Sales in Indonesia are due to begin before the end of 2016. A Japanese launch is then going to happen soon afterwards, but any plans to offer the CBR250RR across Europe have yet to be confirmed.
