Yamaha's MT-09 motorcycle range could gain yet another member if the MWT-9 three-wheeler goes into production. Unveiled in concept form at the Tokyo Motor Show, it's officially known as a 'Leaning Multi-Wheel' machine.
Just like the existing Tricity LMW scooter, the MWT-9's front end features a double wheel set-up. Independent suspension on each side plus a sophisticated linkage mechanism allow for high lean angles. Low-speed stability should be impressive too, although filtering ability might suffer.
Power is provided by a 847 cc three-cylinder engine which, along with much of the remaining structure, is taken straight from the MT-09.
