Yamaha’s iconic ‘speedblock’ racing colour scheme is making a return. This time, it’s going to be used on a limited edition YZF-R1 specially created to commemorate 60 years of Yamaha motorcycles.
As well as that striking livery, the bike’s extra specification includes gold wheels and a lightweight Akrapovic titanium slip-on exhaust silencer.
Everything else is as per the regular YZF-R1, so power comes from a 998 cc four-cylinder engine which develops 197 bhp (147 kW / 200 PS) with 112 Nm (82 lb/ft) of peak torque.
In the UK, the YZF-R1 60th Anniversary Edition has a price tag of £15,749 (plus first registration fee and vehicle excise duty). That’s £750 more than the standard model costs.
Deliveries are due to begin in December.
