Confederate G2 P51 Combat Fighter launched

Confederate Motorcycles has a reputation for producing stripped-back bikes with uncompromising sculptural looks. Its latest creation, the G2 P51 Combat Fighter, clearly continues the same ethos.

Based on the firm's CX4 architecture, the new G2 boasts a monocoque frame constructed from aerospace-grade billet aluminium. Such an approach maximises rigidity, as does making the intake box, manifold and fuel tank structural elements. Another benefit is a fairly manageable 227 kg (500 lbs) kerb weight.

Naturally the all-aluminium air- and oil-cooled engine is a V-twin. With a displacement of 2,160 cc (132 cu. in.), Confederate says it produces 230 Nm (170 lb/ft) of peak torque with 'over' 200 horsepower (around 150 kW). That output is delivered via a five-speed, straight-cut transmission.

Aluminium hasn't been used for the custom-made 19” five-spoke front and 17” solid-disc rear wheels, though. Instead they're both carbon fibre, so they contribute to the G2's high cost.

In Blonde guise – of which just 31 examples will be built – the price in the United States is $113,900 (approximately £73,600 or €100,300 at current exchange rates).

Alternatively, 30 units of the more expensive Black Flag version are being offered at $119,500 (£77,200 / €105,200) each.

As an incentive for any prospective purchasers who might be dithering, orders placed before the 8th of September attract a discount of $10,000 (£6,500 / €8,800).
