Following a meeting of the World Motor Sport Council, the FIA has confirmed that 21 races are set to constitute the 2016 Formula One World Championship.
Along with the addition of two more events, the season start date has been pushed back by three weeks to the beginning of April. Those factors combined should make for an extremely busy schedule.
The other major changes versus 2015 are:
So quantity is definitely promised, but most fans will be hoping for quality also. That’s going to be hard to achieve if a single team rapidly establishes dominance (something which has happened far too often in recent years).

- Austria and Britain swap places.
- Azerbaijan joins the series courtesy of the inaugural Baku European Grand Prix.
- Germany returns to the calendar.
- Hungary moves from July to August.
- Malaysia moves from March to September.
- Japan moves from September to October.
