Volkswagen Passat New European Car of the Year
With 340 points, the new Volkswagen Passat easily won "Car of the Year" title. The selection jury composed of 58 members, has awarded a total of 340 points for the new VW Passat, an assessment with which this model easily surpassed the other contenders that Citroen C4 Cactus runner who won 248 points and Mercedes C-Class won with 221 points. The final round also composed and Ford Mondeo (203 points), Nissan Qashqai (160), BMW Series 2 Active Tourer (154) and Renault Twingo (124).
In relation to the prize won, head of Volkswagen, Martin Winterkorn said: "This is great recognition for the work of designers, engineers and other experts of our company that managed to create a car that is ready to answer all desires and challenges we face. "
