Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the Metris, a mid-size commercial vehicle that has been engineered specifically for Canada and the United States.
The new model, which is essentially a reworked Vito, will be offered in both panel van and people-carrying Tourer guises.
Crossing the Atlantic has resulted in one significant change. While every Vito is powered by diesel, the Metris exclusively features a 1.9 litre four-cylinder petrol engine. Thanks to a turbocharger, it develops 207 bhp (155 kW / 211 PS) with 350 Nm (258 lb/ft) of peak torque.
Metris deliveries are scheduled to begin in September.
