Audi R8, the beast from Audi in Geneva!
Audi unveiled the new generation of sports model Audi R8. The car has been completely renovated, with a completely new design and many innovative technologies. As for the design, it is more evolutionary. New thing is the front cover - type honeycomb, and the first LED headlights, which can be equipped with laser lights and illuminate up to 600 meters in front of the car. Air hole is a different shape and the pipes of the exhaust system, which now have a trapezoid shape.Lights behind are also fully LED. In version R8 Plus is available fixed spoiler made of carbon. The interior has also been changed, and different seats, new dashboard instruments are fully digital, and there is no need for many buttons.
The new generation Audi R8 will offer V8 engine. The model is available only with the 5.2-liter V10 engine, which can be ordered in two versions. The first offers 540 Hp and 540 Nm, while the leader R8 Plus relies on 610 hp and 560 Nm. Due to the growing power base Audi R8 to the hundred grand accelerates in 3.5 seconds and a top 320 km / h. Version R8 Plus makes it 3.2 seconds and can reach 330 km / h.Both modifications are with renewed 7-speed automatic transmission with two clutch S-tronic, which has three modes, including manual. Also there is available corporate system quattro, sending to 100% of the torque to the rear wheels. The machines have a rear differential with manual lock.
The new model is built on architecture Audi Space Frame, which combines light and rigid materials such as steel, aluminum and carbon fiber. Overall weight is reduced by about 50 kg compared to the predecessor and now is just 1.555 kg. Audi R8 Plus version is even easier - 1454 kg.
The second generation of the Audi R8 will appear on the market this summer. Prices start from 165,000 euros for the standard model and 187 400 version R8 V10 Plus.
