Nissan is calling its 370Z Nismo Roadster Concept a “one-off design study created to gauge market interest”, but the chances of a production version appearing soon must be extremely high.
The new concept, which has debuted at the Chicago Auto Show, features the same modified bumpers and side skirts as the existing 370Z Nismo coupé. Unique touches include a carbon fibre rear spoiler, an under-bonnet strut-tower brace and off-white suede inserts for the leather-covered Recaro seats.
Power is provided by a 350 bhp (260 kW / 354 PS) 3.7 litre V6 engine that’s paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Completing the Nismo upgrades is a recalibrated suspension set-up.
As per a regular 370Z Roadster, the cloth roof is power-operated and when lowered it sits beneath a steel tonneau cover. A fixed glass deflector is fitted to reduce wind buffeting.
