Developed by Lamborghini Squadra Corse, Grasser Racing Team is due to run two examples of the new racer in the five-round 2015 Blancpain Endurance Series. The cost per car to privateers is €369,000 plus taxes (around £279,000 or US$420,000 at current exchange rates).
Of course there are numerous differences compared to the road-going version. The most obvious are the dramatically widened wheel arches and an adjustable rear spoiler that’s complemented by an imposing diffuser.
Beneath its skin, the rear-wheel drive Huracán GT3 gains modified front and rear subframes, an enhanced oil cooling system, a six-speed sequential gearbox and various safety devices including a roof hatch. Power comes from a V10 engine, but Lamborghini hasn’t revealed any output or performance figures.
