Despite its name, the Aston Martin DB10 isn’t a DB9 replacement. In fact the new model has been specially created for Spectre, the latest James Bond movie.
Just ten examples of the DB10 are going to be built by Aston Martin, although how many of them will survive the rigours of stunt driving remains to be seen.
The film’s title is an acronym for Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion. That’s the organisation led by super-villain Ernst Blofeld which first appeared in Ian Fleming’s 1961 novel Thunderball.
Once again Daniel Craig is playing 007, while other cast members include Christoph Waltz, Ralph Fiennes and Sherlock’s Andrew Scott. Spectre’s director is Sam Mendes and production is scheduled to begin next week.
