While the Outlander PHEV boasts a clever hybrid powertrain, it sure does look dull. Perhaps finally realising this, Mitsubishi has created the Concept-S which is due to debut at next month’s Paris Motor Show.
The SUV’s front end gains added presence thanks to a successful facelift. The grille is bolder, the bonnet is more sculpted and the headlights are better integrated. It’s a similar story at the rear, where redesigned light clusters stretch across the whole width of the vehicle and striking chrome accents add further visual interest.
On the inside, the Concept-S features burgundy hand-stitched leather which is complemented by black wood trim. The result is certainly more exciting than the current version’s all-black upholstery options.
Whether or not the Concept-S becomes the next production Outlander remains to be seen. It would be puzzling if that didn’t happen, though.
