Taking a lead from some of its premium rivals, Infiniti has created a long-wheelbase version of the Q50 sports saloon especially for China. The Q50L, which will be both built and marketed only in that country, gains a 48 mm (1.9”) wheelbase stretch for the benefit of rear seat passengers.
When sales begin in November customers are going to have a choice of Comfort, Elegant, Sports, Luxury or Luxury Sports trim grades. A rear window sunshade, cabin mood lighting and a 14-speaker Bose audio system have already been confirmed for the available equipment list.
Infiniti intends to offer just one powertrain option, though. It's a 208 bhp (155 kW / 211 PS) 2.0 litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission.
The Q50L is due to make its public debut later this month at the Chengdu Motor Show.
