This coming July will see the electric-powered e-NV200 arrive at Nissan dealers. Available in either panel van or five-seat combi guises, both are being offered with a choice of two trim grades.
But those aren’t the only decisions facing customers. They’ll also have to consider whether buying the e-NV200’s battery pack outright or leasing it separately is a better option. It’s certainly something that affects the initial cost significantly.
Another factor that has influenced the price list is the government’s involvement. That’s because the van version is eligible for the Plug-in Van Grant, which is currently capped at £8,000. The combi meanwhile qualifies for the less generous £5,000 Plug-in Car Grant.
By comparison, the diesel NV200 starts from £13,590. So financially the e-NV200 could make sense, especially when Nissan is claiming fuel and maintenance savings of £2,500 and £575 respectively over four years.
Depreciation on the e-NV200 remains unknown though, plus operators will have to be satisfied with its 105 miles (170 kilometres) range and 75 mph (120 km/h) top speed.
