The Fiat 500 is a marvel of space utilization. Designers and engineers have squeezed every last drop of interior room out of its 139 inch length, the results are the Fiat 500 can accommodate, at the same time, a driver of the 90 percentile (about 6'1") and a rear passenger of the 70 percentile (about 5'9") comfortably.*
In the quest to continually improve and enhance the ownership experience, Fiat has redesigned the center console on new 2015 Fiat 500 models. The new center console now houses the USB and Aux connectivity ports, replacing the glove box mounted ports used previously. The console also now features two improved cup holders.
Originally the NAFTA Fiat 500 console theoretically had three cup holders but these proved impractical to use in real life use. The new cup holders are more secure and with the added connectivity ports along with a new storage shelf, the new console design adds up to making the 500 more practical and user friendly.
The USB and Aux ports have covers. Note the 12 volt power outlet located on the left side of the console.
Topping off the enhanced center console design is a new USB charging station added to the inside of the glove box. All in all, a subtle but very useful update to the practical Fiat 500.
A new USB charging port located in the glove takes the place of the connectivity ports that have now been moved to the center console .
