Chevrolet is adding a High Country variant to its 2015 Silverado HD pick-up range. Promising a bit more luxury, it’ll be offered on 2500 and 3500 models equipped with a crew cab.
The standard specification includes a Bose audio system, an 8” touchscreen, front and rear parking sensors, saddle brown leather upholstery and front seats that have both heating and cooling. Also available is an optional High Country Premium Package comprising power-adjustable pedals, driver alert and a heated steering wheel.
Among the distinguishing exterior features are a unique chrome grille, body-colour bumpers, chrome side steps and several special badges. The wheels fitted depend on the version chosen: the 2500 comes with 20” chrome-finished rims, the single rear-wheel 3500 gets 18” items and the double rear-wheel 3500 has 17” polished forged alloys.
As expected the engine selection is the same as for the rest of the Silverado HD line-up, namely a 6.0 litre Vortec petrol V8 with or without CNG dual-fuel capability, plus a 6.6 litre Duramax turbo diesel unit. Buyers can pick either rear- or four-wheel drive.
Silverado HD High Country sales are due to begin across North America this summer.
