Most significantly, the round in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil that was originally scheduled for the middle of November has been cancelled. However, according to Formula E organisers it has merely been postponed, so the event could reappear in a future season.
In its place will be a race in February hosted by an as yet unnamed city. Consequently, the Los Angeles date has been shifted back to April.
A Formula E points structure was also confirmed. In line with Formula One, 1st place gets 25 points, 2nd = 18, 3rd = 15, 4th = 12, 5th = 10, 6th = 8, 7th = 6, 8th = 4, 9th = 2 and 10th = 1. In addition, there will be three points for pole position and two points for the fastest lap time.
