Scania has launched the Golden Griffin Limited Edition to celebrate its UK subsidiary’s 50th birthday. Appropriately, just 50 examples of the V8-powered golden jubilee model are going to be built and they’ll all feature a numbered plaque, gold paintwork and a choice of two graphics designs.
The standard specification is certainly extensive. Based on the Streamline Topline cab, it includes the Black Leather V8, Driver, Griffin and Prestige packs. Furthermore, adaptive cruise control, advanced emergency braking, lane departure warning, a kitchenette and a television plus DVD player are also fitted.
Numbers 1 and 50 in the series will come with the 720 bhp (537 kW / 730 PS) 16.4 litre engine, but the remainder are being offered in either R580 or R730 guises. The Golden Griffin Limited Edition can be specified with 4x2, 6x2, 6x2/2 and 6x2/4 axle configurations, while for STGO applications a 6x4 version is available too.
