MV Agusta Brutale 800 Dragster revealed

MV Agusta has launched a more extreme version of its Brutale 800. Called the Dragster, it’s distinguished by a single seat and hardly any rear bodywork.

The newcomer is built around a tubular steel frame with aluminium reinforcing plates. Power is provided by the same 798 cc three-cylinder engine that’s used in the regular Brutale 800, so the key figures are 123 bhp (92 kW / 125 PS) with 81 Nm (59 lb/ft) of peak torque. Those outputs are combined with eight-level traction control and a 167 kg (368 lbs) dry weight.

A fully-adjustable Marzocchi upside-down front fork and Sachs rear damper comprise the suspension set-up, while the Brembo brakes feature a Bosch anti-lock system as standard.

Offered in a choice of matt metallic grey or white colour schemes, the Brutale 800 Dragster costs €13,490 in the Eurozone. For the UK its expected price is £10,999 (excluding on the road charges), an amount that would make the Dragster £1,200 more expensive than a normal ABS-equipped Brutale 800.
