A proper Honda motorcycle for £385 or €455 sounds like a real bargain. The bike in question is the new CG110, but there are a couple of catches.
Firstly, availability is currently restricted to Nigeria, which is where Honda builds the thing. A price tag there of around 100,000 naira should help achieve an annual sales forecast of 40,000 units. Don’t expect the CG110 to be exported to Europe, though.
Secondly, it’s a very basic machine. Although technical details haven’t been released, the specification appears to include an air-cooled engine, a kick-starter, simple suspension, drum brakes and dated styling. However none of that matters, because the point of the CG110 is to provide its target audience with affordable, reliable mobility.
