The finalists for the 2014 North American Car of the Year and 2014 North American Truck / Utility of the Year awards have been announced.
From a shortlist of twelve models, a jury of forty-eight automotive journalists from Canada and the United States chose the Cadillac CTS, Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and Mazda 3 to be the three car finalists. While the Chevrolet’s selection was fairly predictable, the Mazda’s presence is rather surprising given some of the other contenders.
In the truck and utility category, the jurors voted for the Acura MDX, Chevrolet Silverado and Jeep Cherokee.
There’ll now be a further ballot to decide the winners. The results of that poll are due to be declared on the 13th of January at the North American International Auto Show.
