Mugen has revealed the Shinden Ni, an electric-powered motorcycle that’s due to compete in the 2013 Isle of Man TT Zero Challenge.
Once again, John McGuinness is going to be the team’s sole rider. Last year he managed to secure second place aboard the Mugen, a creditable achievement given it was the bike’s first TT outing.
Clearly the aim in 2013 is to go one better and win the zero-emissions event outright.
To help accomplish that goal, Mugen has been busy refining the bike. As a result the aerodynamics are better, its kerb weight is now 240 kg (529 lbs) and the three-phase, brushless motor produces 120 bhp (90 kW / 122 PS).
This year’s Isle of Man TT races begin on the 25th of May.
