Here is a quick look at the Fiat 500 Abarth Tenebra concept car that will make its debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show later this week. Originally code named the "Shadow," the exterior of this special 500 Abarth model has been given the full matte finish treatment in grey and features dark chrome exterior accents, blacked out headlights, running and tail lights. Gloss gray mirror caps, Abarth side stripes and huge roof mounted scorpion decal contrast with the matte grey finish. Rounding out the outside are a sharp looking set of hyper-black chrome 16 inch alloy wheels, the design making its first appearance on the 500 Abarth Tenebra.
The interior of 500 Abarth Tenebra also gets the works with a matte carbon fiber dash panel borrowed from the Abarth 695 Maserati and black leather seats with grey or silver accent piping and stitching. These stitching accents are carried over onto the steering wheel and leather covered instrument cluster brow. Additionally, matte carbon fiber covers the shift knob and parking brake.
The Fiat 500 Abarth Tenebra is listed as a concept car, but there is talk that the matte finished car will make it into production with a new style paint treatment that will be easily maintainable. The car will be available in matte grey or black.
I'll have more on the Fiat 500 Abarth Tenebra and all the other Fiat models on display at the Detroit Auto Show starting tomorrow. Stick around!
