Honda has unveiled its MSX125, which is due at UK dealers in the spring. Those initials stand for ‘Mini Street X-treme’, and they sum up this new Thailand-built bike rather well.
Carrying on the lineage established by the likes of the Monkey, Dax and Ape, the minuscule MSX125 features a compact steel frame and tiny 12” wheels shod with wide, low profile tyres. Also part of the specification are disc brakes front and rear, inverted front forks and a monoshock rear suspension system.
Power comes from a four-stroke, fuel-injected 125 cc engine that’s connected to a proper motorcycle-style four-speed gearbox with a hand-operated clutch. No ‘twist and go’ here…
Pricing has yet to be announced, but for nipping around town the MSX125 looks like it could be a lot more fun than a scooter.
