Cadillac has confirmed that the ELR coupé is to debut at next month’s North American International Auto Show, exactly four years after the first appearance of the Converj concept that inspired it.
For now, just one teaser image of the production ELR has been released, and technical details remain scant.
However, it is known that the ELR borrows much of its range-extender technology from the Chevrolet Volt / Vauxhall Ampera. That includes the drivetrain, which comprises a four-cylinder engine-generator, an electric drive unit and a T-shaped lithium-ion battery pack.
