Car manufacturers using fashion designers to create special editions is not unusual, but rarely is the end result as bonkers as the Smart forjeremy. Dreamt up by Jeremy Scott and based on the fortwo electric drive, a pair of illuminated fibreglass wings sprouting from the rear pillars give it a look that is certainly, well, different…

The rest of the car is equally as gaudy, with bright white paintwork set off by chrome plating on the tridion cell, headlamp ‘eyebrows’, radiator grille surround and door mirror caps. On the inside, white nappa leather upholstery and chrome trim pieces continue the theme.

Even crazier than the styling is Smart’s plan to put the forjeremy into limited production some time next year. Presumably the firm is confident that there’s a low risk of receiving lawsuits from people who’ve been impaled on those appendages.
