Honda has revealed its new Brio Amaze, a saloon version of the Brio hatchback that was launched in March 2011.
Like its five-door sibling, the Brio Amaze has been designed specifically for the Thai and Indian markets.
The version offered in Thailand is powered by a 1.2 litre i-VTEC petrol engine that delivers 88 bhp (66 kW / 90 PS) and 110 Nm (81 lb/ft) of torque. Euro 4 compliant, it comes with either a five-speed manual gearbox or a continuously variable automatic transmission, and fuel economy of up to 56.4 mpg (5.0 l/100km / 20 km/l) is promised.
For India, a petrol engine is also going to be available when sales begin next year, plus it’ll be joined by a diesel option as well.
Standard equipment includes front airbags, electric power steering and an anti-lock brake system with electronic brake distribution. In Thailand two trim levels will be available, with prices starting from 454,000 Baht (around £9,200 or €11,400 at current exchange rates):
· S MT - 454,000 Baht
· S AT - 493,000 Baht
· V MT - 482,000 Baht
· V AT - 521,000 Baht
