88 g/km Corsa ecoFLEX

The Corsa ecoFLEX has been made even more efficient for 2013, with the headline figures for the Start/Stop three-door version being carbon dioxide emissions of just 88 g/km and 85.6 mpg (3.3 l/100km) on the combined cycle.

They represent improvements of 6 g/km and 2.4 mpg (0.1 l/100km) respectively compared to the current version, made possible by a number of changes to the 93 bhp (70 kW / 95 PS), 1.3 litre CDTI turbo diesel engine.

Among these are a revised map for the control module, the fitment of a variable displacement oil pump that delivers lubricant around the engine only as required and the use of a low-viscosity transmission oil.

Performance continues to be more than adequate, and the ecoFLEX variants can get from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 12.3 seconds, before going on to a top speed of 109 mph (175 km/h).

Other upgrades that Vauxhall / Opel is introducing across the Corsa range from November include new smoother, more precise manual transmissions, while tweaks to the chassis set-up should enhance the ride comfort.
