The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive will become the most powerful electric production car in the world when it hits the road in June 2013.
The SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive utilizes four in-board electric motors, one for each wheel, which produce a combined output of 740Hp (552kW) and a maximum torque of 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft), making it the most powerful production AMG model of all time.
The battery-powered SLS AMG is said to accelerate from zero to 100km/h (62mph) in just 3.9 seconds with its top speed electronically governed at 250km/h (155mph).
First deliveries of the limited run SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive will begin in July of 2013 with prices in Germany starting at a whopping €416,500 (US$536,200 at the current exchange rates), or more than twice the cost of the petrol engine-powered SLS AMG GT (€204,680).
