Triumph has announced a more rugged XC version of its Tiger Explorer.
Aimed directly at the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure, the new arrival will come with various features that underline its long-haul capabilities.
Among these are an aluminium bash plate and steel tube bars to protect the 1,215 cc three-cylinder engine, as well as hand guards and a pair of fog lights. It also includes aluminium rimmed, steel spoke wheels that are shod with tubeless tyres.
Just like the regular Tiger Explorer, the XC is a shaft-drive bike, and traction control, cruise control and switchable anti-lock brakes are all going to be part of the standard specification.
Available only in Khaki Green, market launches of the Tiger Explorer XC are due to begin in March 2013. Pricing has yet to be confirmed.
