WP fettles the Holden Cruze

Walkinshaw Performance has launched a tuning programme for the Series II Holden Cruze.

Based on the already sporty SRi-V trim grade, modifications include a superior suspension set-up that features components from Bilstein and Irmscher. The brakes have been improved too, and they sit behind rather smart 18” Irmscher Turbo Star alloy wheels.

Arguably all of those enhancements are needed, though. That’s because the Cruze’s 1.4 litre engine has received a huge boost in output, thanks to an upgraded turbocharger and a replacement exhaust system developed by Walkinshaw Performance in conjunction with HPF.

The result is a leap in power from 138 bhp (103 kW / 140 PS) to 241 bhp (180 kW / 245 PS), while peak torque has risen from 200 Nm (147 lb/ft) to 310 Nm (228 lb/ft). Unfortunately, the actual effect is hard gauge, as no performance figures have been released.
