Ford Performance Vehicles has announced the GT RSPEC Limited Edition Series.
Based on the existing GT, and powered by the same 5.0 litre supercharged engine that develops 449 bhp (335 kW / 455 PS), the focus has been on providing an enhanced driving experience.
And that has meant extensively reworking the chassis. At the front, the suspension has been stiffened up and revised dampers fitted. At the rear, there are now 9” width wheels that come shod with 275/35 R19 Dunlop Sports Maxx tyres, a larger anti-roll bar, firmer springs and new dampers.
Completing the technical upgrades are a launch control system and more rigid mounts for the transmission.
Distinguishing the GT RSPEC is a bold body-side ‘C’ stripe, a larger rear spoiler, black exhaust tips and a bootlid badge. The interior features Shadow Leather upholstery and piano black trim pieces.
Of the 350 examples that will be built, half are going to be finished in Silhouette Black paintwork with Vixen Red accents. The remainder will be available in a choice of Kinetic Blue, Vixen Red or Winter White colours, all of which get contrasting Silhouette Black graphics.
In Australia, the FPV GT RSPEC has been priced at A$76,990.
