TechArt's New 911 Turbo GTstreet R With Up To 720HP Is A Mean Green Machine

TechArt has revealed the GTstreet R, their new range-topping model based on the Porsche 991 Turbo and Turbo S, in full.

The bodywork on the new TechArt GTstreetR features extensive revisions over the standard Porsche 911 Turbo and even includes a new active aero agenda that provides 321kg (707lbs) of real downforce at 300km/h (186mph).

The carbon fiber front apron comes with an active front spoiler that optimizes the airflow towards the water- and oil-coolers while a central air outlet helps in reducing the aerodynamic lift. The laterally positioned flaps on the front bumper increase downforce and reduce at the same time the drag coefficient. The carbon wing on the rear is also active, rising automatically with its angle adjusted by up to 15 degrees when the Performance mode is engaged.

TechArt will offer the GTstreetR with a range of power upgrades over the standard 911 Turbo models, starting from the 600hp powerkit. Next in line is the 640hp package which allows the new GTstreetR to accelerate from 0-62mph (100km/h) in 2.7 seconds, with 0-124mph (0-200km/h) coming in 9.2 seconds. TechArt will also offer a 720hp powerkit for those wanting even more speed, starting from early 2017.

The chassis can be fitted with either a set of 20in or 21in alloy wheels, while customers will be able to choose a VarioPlus coilover suspension with PDDC connectivity and a Noselift front axle lift system, which provides 60mm of additional ground clearance. The new sport exhaust system comes with a continuously variable pneumatic valve control, optimizing this way the back pressure depending on different load conditions.

The cabin can be specified in two different variants, the Exclusive and the Clubsport. The first one comes with the finest leather upholstery while the Clubsport features Alcantara highlights, a color-matched roll bar, six-point harnesses and door-opening straps. In both versions the dashboard, center console, roof liner, sun visors and door pillars are covered in leather or Alcantara while carbon fiber trim is offered as an option.

TechArt's new GTstreetR combines the staggering aero performance of the GT3 RS with the incredible pace of a tuned 911 Turbo, offering a quite attractive package to impatient clients that just can't wait for Porsche to bring out the new GT2 RS.
